The Spanish giants are interested in signing the Netherlands centre-back, according to Calciomercato, after Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos left the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.

Los Blancos are prioritizing a move for a top-level centre-back as soon as possible, but any deal would be expensive, with the Serie A star signing for Juventus from Ajax for a €75 million price back in 2019.

Chelsea were reported to be interested in signing the 22-year-old, but they are also connected with Sevilla FC midfielder Jules Kounde.

According to the Mirror, Dani Olmo is a sought-after player at some of Europe’s best clubs, with Manchester United the most recent to express interest in the Spain international and RB Leipzig standout. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Juventus are all interested in the 23-year-old Olmo, who the source claims could cost up to £60 million in a transfer price.

17.28 BST: According to the Mirror, Jesse Lingard may be on his way out of Manchester United. The midfielder, who had a strong season on loan at West Ham last season, is currently engaged in a contract dispute with United, which will see him leave the club at the end of the season. Lingard had wanted to play more for Man United after returning from West Ham, but he has only played four minutes this season and should anticipate additional playing time to be difficult to come by with Cristiano Ronaldo’s return this summer.

16.36 BST: Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has indicated that goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale would continue to start for the Gunners, casting more doubt on Bernd Leno’s future at the club.

In Arsenal’s 1-0 victory against Norwich City on Saturday, Ramsdale, a £30 million summer acquisition, preserved the club’s first Premier League clean sheet of the season.

Leno, who has a contract with Arsenal until 2023, said in the summer that he was “open to anything” when it came to his future at the club, and that may be compounded now that his No. 1 spot is in jeopardy.

“[Ramsdale] was fantastic,” Arteta remarked after the game, “not just what he accomplished on the technical side but what he communicates, his connection with the back line, his body language.” “It was fantastic.”

“We have two excellent keepers, and I had to make a choice today that was correct. I’m interested in seeing how they perform; we need performances. Whoever is more dependable will play.”

After the game, Ramsdale told Sky: “I agreed to join the team whenever it became available. I’ve got to keep working on the training pitch and compete with Bernd [Leno], and maybe I’ll be able to remain in the squad and continue to assist out.”

15.19 BST: According to LaLiga president Javier Tebas, Barcelona might have avoided losing Lionel Messi this summer if the league had permitted a big investment agreement to take place.

Tebas has slammed Real Madrid and Barcelona’s backing for a planned European Super League, labeling it a “laugh” and characterizing the two clubs, as well as Juventus, as “shipwrecked” after the project’s nine other founding members apologised and abandoned it.

He blamed the Super League dispute on Madrid and Barcelona’s rejection of a €2.7 billion investment plan with CVC Capital Partners, which was accepted by 38 teams from LaLiga’s First and Second Divisions. The CVC investment, which gives the fund a 10% share in LaLiga’s future profits from the sale of audiovisual rights for up to 50 years, was made in part to give Barcelona the financial boost it needed to retain Messi.

When his previous contract ended due to LaLiga’s stringent financial salary limitations, the club was unable to sign him to a new contract, and he joined Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

“Yes,” Tebas replied, “Messi’s departure might have been prevented.” “I personally discussed it with Laporta… We’ll see next season whether Messi could have remained or not, based on the numbers Barca put out.

“It wasn’t a matter of money. That is something I am certain about “he said “If Laporta shook Messi’s hand, it was because he had accepted the CVC offer for a month. For a month, he was in favor. That’s why he claimed everything was OK. He even phoned me twice to ask me to expedite the CVC procedure since Messi was becoming agitated.”

14.24 BST: According to The Sun on Sunday, Manchester United may face competition from local rivals Manchester City for West Ham’s Declan Rice.

Rice remains a priority for United, according to ESPN’s Mark Ogden, despite the club’s decision not to invest in a midfielder this summer, since a winger and center-back were listed as the club’s key objectives. The summer budget was used to sign winger Jadon Sancho and defender Raphael Varane, while money from outside the transfer pool were used to bankroll a move for forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to ESPN, a striker and a midfielder are on the list ahead of next summer’s transfer window, with England international Rice being one of many possibilities that will be whittled down over the next 12 months.

Now Rice’s development has been monitored by Premier League winners City since he broke into the West Ham first team, according to The Sun on Sunday, and the 22-year-old is seen as a long-term successor for Fernandinho, who turns 37 this season.

13.27 BST: Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel says keeping Callum Hudson-Odoi at the club on transfer deadline day was an easy choice.

Both Leicester City and Borussia Dortmund were allegedly interested in loaning the England international, but Tuchel did not want to lose the versatile 20-year-old for the season after he made his 100th appearance for Chelsea against Aston Villa on Saturday.

“We’ve had our say. Tuchel said, “It was a pretty simple choice for me to make on the final day of the transfer season.” “We cannot allow a member of the 18/19 man team to depart.” He can play in the two 10 positions as a right wing-back or a left wing-back. He is well-versed in the group, and we are well-versed in him. On the final day, there was no way to say yes.

“It may have been a wonderful chance for him personally, but it was just impossible for us to accomplish our goals. It was really a simple task for me.”

– Chelsea’s Lukaku and Kovacic get 9/10 ratings, while Saul had a difficult start.

12.34 BST: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he is satisfied with the club’s modest summer activity because he does not want to get engaged in the transfer window’s “circus.”

The €41.5 million acquisition of center defender Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig was Klopp’s sole first-team addition ahead of the 2021-22 season, with the club instead focusing on re-signing many important players.

Klopp said, “We felt it made sense that we sign up our team that we have.” “That isn’t as impressive as the rest of the scene. I can’t alter it because you can’t conduct transfer business and be in a circus at the same time.”

Liverpool’s offensive options will be severely weakened in January when forwards Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane represent Egypt and Senegal, respectively, in the African Cup of Nations, but Klopp has said that no replacements would be signed during the winter transfer window.

“That’s great; we were aware of it and will deal with it,” he added. “People are now saying, ‘You need to recruit two strikers of Sadio’s and Mo’s caliber.’ We can’t do that, therefore it can’t be the answer.”

According to The Sun on Sunday, England goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has put contract negotiations with West Bromwich Albion on hold in order to concentrate on helping the team achieve quick promotion back to the Premier League.

According to ESPN, Johnstone’s previous club Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United were all keeping tabs on him in May.

Johnstone’s contract at The Hawthorns is set to expire at the end of the season. He was part of England’s team at the European Championship in the summer.

10.49 BST: If the chance came at any of his previous teams, Ajax sports director Marc Overmars says he would prefer to take up a comparable position at Barcelona rather than Arsenal.

In his debut season as an Arsenal player, Overmars won the Premier League and FA Cup double, before transferring to Barcelona in 2000 for four years.

The 48-year-old former Netherlands international has been linked with a return to Arsenal to replace technical director Edu. Overmars, on the other hand, claims that if the time came, he would choose to return to Catalonia.

“At some point, the choice is clear: either I remain here at Ajax or we move overseas as a family again,” Overmars told Ajax Life. “I’ve let that train by six times already.”

“[Arsenal and Barcelona] are both intriguing [options], but I believe my family would prefer Spain. We felt quite at ease there, and I believe I would pick Barcelona again.”

09.55 BST: According to The Sun on Sunday, former Chelsea captain John Terry is interested in taking over as manager of Nottingham Forest if Chris Hughton quits the Championship club.

Terry just departed Aston Villa after almost three years as a member of manager Dean Smith’s coaching staff in order to pursue a managerial career.

The 40-year-old made six games for Forest during a short loan stint in 2000, and if the club’s fortunes do not improve, he may return to the City Ground.

Forest sit bottom of the Championship after five games without a victory, and they face Cardiff City at 2:30 p.m. BST on Sunday (watch LIVE on ESPN+ in the United States).

– Manchester City will compete with Liverpool for Jude Bellingham, according to the Daily Star. With Fernandinho’s contract due to expire at the end of the season, Pep Guardiola’s side view the Borussia Dortmund star as a long-term successor. Liverpool is the latest team to enter the battle for Bellingham, with the Premier League winners allegedly making the 18-year-old a priority acquisition.

– According to Calciomercato, Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Franck Kessie and Robin Gosens. The two players have allegedly been considered as possible January upgrades by the Spanish club. Contract negotiations between Ivory Coast international Kessie and AC Milan are allegedly stalled, while Atalanta’s Gosens has boosted his reputation with a successful Euro 2020 campaign with Germany.

– Juventus will begin negotiations with Paulo Dybala in the coming weeks in order to secure a new contract for one of their important players. Fabrizio Romano claims that the club is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and that he would meet with the players’ representatives to try to reach an agreement on the contract negotiations that have lasted all summer. So far this season, the 27-year-old has assisted on two goals in two games.

– According to Fabrizio Romano, contract negotiations for Dusan Vlahovic are beginning, with Fiorentina hoping to stave off interest in their star striker.
